Coaching Staff

The coaching staff at Shorewood HS is committed to building a unified volleyball program that student athletes are excited to be part of.  We will lead by example and treat our players with dignity and respect, both on and off the court, and will expect the same in return as we work together to achieve common goals.
Head Coach:  Jennifer Berard

Jennifer grew up in the Greenlake area and played vollebyall at Bishop Blanchet High School and Everett CC.  After suffering an injury during the Spring season at WSU, Jennifer returned home, attended school at UW and began coaching various age groups in the area.  Jennifer joined the coaching staff at Shorewood in 2010 where she spent one season as the JV Coach/Assistant Varsity Coach.  The following season, an opportunity presented itself and Jennifer followed her dream and became the head coach.  Jennifer has been working hard to build the volleyball program in the community.
After volleyball season, you can find Jennifer supporting her daughter, Ashley, a competitive dancer and Junior at Monroe High School or at the baseball field cheering on her son; Andrew, a Junior
at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas.
JV Coach:  Megan Jackson

Megan began her Volleyball career in Ohio in seventh grade.  Making Varsity as a Freshman in High School allowed her to push herself and gain advanced skills while playing with upperclassmen.  She began visiting schools and communicating with College coaches her Senior year.  Megan chose to play at Colorado Christian University, redshirting her Freshman year due to an extensive knee surgery.  Making the hard decision to leave the University after playing as an Outside and Rightside Hitter her Sophomore year, Megan returned home and began coaching for Sabotage Sports.  After spending the 2013 as the Varsity Assistant Coach, Megan took on the Freshman and has since moved up to coach the JV Team.  Megan recently graduated from Nursing School.  Megan enjoys learning new things about the game of volleyball.  Coaching has become her passion and she loves to help others perfect their game while also instilling a love for the game.

Freshman Coach:  Jack Hutt

Jack grew up in the north end of Seattle attending Ingraham High School where he was introduced to volleyball. He fell in love with the game and continued to play locally for many years in various USVBA, Rec and outdoor leagues around Seattle until he got fat, old and couldn't jump anymore. His real passion now is coaching and when he's not in the gym, he can be found on the mountains in the winters teaching ski racing to kids and running ski races. In the Spring and Summer he will be found on a baseball field coaching for Monroe High School.  He may even find some time to play some golf and run some golf events. He has a daughter, Vreni and son Cole, both SWHS grads and students at WSU, and the most amazing wife of 23 yrs, Wendy, who somehow puts up with all his "stuff".
